Job Description:

Job Title: Domestic & Export Sales Manager

Experience: 4-6 Years

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Salary: KSH 300K- 500K

Job Summary:
The Domestic & Export Sales Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing sales channels in both domestic and export markets. The role aims to achieve sales targets, expand market presence, and ensure the visibility and availability of the company's product portfolio across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Development and Management:

  1. Identify, develop, and manage the company’s product portfolio in domestic and export markets to achieve sales growth.
  2. Formulate and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand market share.
  3. Monitor and meet monthly sales targets for domestic and export markets.

Market Analysis and Strategy:

  1. Analyze market trends, economic environments, and consumer behavior to identify gaps and opportunities.
  2. Develop and implement market-specific route-to-market strategies to ensure product availability and visibility.
  3. Provide actionable market intelligence and prepare monthly sales reports.

Relationship Management:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, current customers, and potential clients.
  2. Manage and develop key distributors in Kenya, EAC, and COMESA regions to enhance distribution efficiency.

Promotions and Trade Activities:

  1. Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute promotional and trade activities in export markets.
  2. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities for growth in both existing and new export markets.

Operational Excellence:

Conduct site visits and provide training for distributor staff to ensure sales goals are met.

  1. Monitor the performance of distributors and develop a sustainable distribution network.
  2. Adhere to company environmental, health, and safety policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 4–6 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or related roles, preferably in FMCG, footwear, or plastics within African markets.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and convert insights into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) in English; proficiency in Swahili and French is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
