Job Description

 

  As a Category Manager for Electronics, your role is to oversee and manage the entire electronics product category within a company or organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive sales, increase market share, and meet financial targets for the category. Your job description may include the following responsibilities: 

 

  1. Category Strategy: Develop a comprehensive category strategy based on market analysis, customer insights, and business objectives. This strategy should outline the assortment, pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies for the electronics category.
  2. Assortment Planning: Work closely with suppliers and vendors to curate a product assortment that meets customer needs and preferences. Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends and new product opportunities. 
  3. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, discounts, and product exclusivity. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    4. Pricing and Margins: Set competitive pricing strategies for the electronics category while ensuring healthy margins. Regularly analyze pricing data, monitor market trends, and adjust prices as needed to optimize sales and profitability. 
  4. Promotions and Campaigns: Develop and execute promotional campaigns to drive customer engagement and increase sales. Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective marketing materials, advertising campaigns, and product launches. 
  5. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and product demand to ensure optimal stock levels. Implement inventory replenishment strategies, including forecasting, ordering, and managing stock levels to minimize stockouts and overstocks. 
  6. Sales and Performance Analysis: Analyze sales data and performance metrics to track the category's performance against targets. Identify areas for improvement, evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives, and make data-driven recommendations for optimizing performance.
  7. Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular competitive analysis to understand market trends, competitor strategies, and pricing. Use this information to develop strategies that differentiate the electronics category and maintain a competitive edge.
  8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, sales, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and support for category initiatives. Work closely with the retail team to provide training, guidance, and support to improve the in-store customer experience. 
  9. Stay Updated: Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in the electronics market. Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build industry knowledge and relationships. 

 

 

Overall, as a Category Manager for Electronics, your primary goal is to drive growth and profitability for the electronics category by effectively managing the product assortment, supplier relationships, pricing strategies, promotions, and inventory.

  • Must be pro-active, self-motivated, goal-oriented, confident, flexible, and adaptable to a fastworking environment. 
  • Must be willing to expand his working hour from the normal working timings. 
  • Must Work well with others and independently, to meet deadlines. 
  • Must be able to digest stress and find solution on a wider perspective with long term visions.
