Job Description:

Key Accountability:

1. To perform internal and external proficiency testing with lab Techs.
2. To analyse lab needs from training , staff and equipment needs.
3. Review and sign off on employee timecards.
4. Yearly chemical monitoring of lab techs.
5. Investigate deviations , review batch sheets ,etc, approval of deviation if warranted.
6. Manage hold and near miss program .
7. Represent the lab at all production and management meetings.
8. Fill in for the QA manager and sanitation supervisor as needed .
9. Troubleshoot , maintenance and repair of lab equipment.
10. Enter daily hazardous waste into master data base.
11. Collect and send samples as per customer specific requirements.
12. Schedule preventive maintenance for all lab equipment and sensitive production equipment.
13. To update specification books as specification changes.
14. Write new procedures and update procedure books.
15. Participate in customer and third part audits.
16. Determine lab equipment needs , write capital requests when needed.
17. Production in line paperwork review , product loss and product approval in quality assurance managers’ absence .

Person Specification

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering , Biochemistry or equivalent.
• Training certificate.
• Minimum of 9 years relevant work experience, 2 years of which are spent in a supervisory capacity..
