Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Equivalent professional qualification.

• 8- 12 years experience in design of static and rotating equipment.
• Conversant with International Design Codes of Practice, including American, British Standards and Saudi Aramco standards and SABIC standards.
• Hands on experience in pressure vessel, tank and rotating equipment design for oil and gas, and refinery facilities.
• Develop Mechanical design deliverables, equipment sizing calculations based on International standards for oil and gas, and refinery facilities and skids.
• Conversant with design codes and experience in design of pressure vessel, tanks using Industry standard software such as PV Elite and others
• Equipment vent sizing, Pressure/Vacuum relief valve sizing, Nozzle and vent line sizing, and Nozzle load / stress calculations
• Conversant with design software such AutoCAD, Microstation, Cad Worx, SP3D, Navisworks review
• Review Structural design report (Staad), Pipe stress analysis report (CAESAR-II) and implement in the design, as applicable.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for design, coordination, and execution of all Mechanical Engineering activities on the project.
2. Prepare material takeoff to support project estimation.
3. Coordinating with clients, subcontractors, project manager and Other Discipline Engineers.
4. Prepare, Review and approval of all Mechanical material submittal and shop/fabrication drawings.
5. Prepare, review and checking job specifications and data sheets in accordance with project standards requirements and contractual requirements for purchase of materials and equipment.
6. Design of facilities as per project specification, Contract scope, applicable codes and standards.
7. Develop design and review drawings, documents, and study reports.
8. Review design deliverables and participate design review meetings with client.
9. Technical bid evaluation and recommend technically compliant offers for PO procurement
10. Vendor document review and implement vendor data in design package
11. Perform discipline check on the deliverables developed to ensure quality.
12. Coordinate with design team to carryout design activities
13. Coordinate with site team, provide technical support and clarification to resolve queries during construction.
14. Technical evaluation of design packages, verify and develop Bill of quantities
