Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to support the design, development, and execution of LV electrical panel projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering designs, ensuring compliance with IEC standards, coordinating with internal teams, and supporting project execution from design through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project Single Line Diagrams (SLD), specifications, and technical documents.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and identify any deviations from specifications.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, including:
  • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
  • Schematics
  • Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Perform busbar sizing, heat dissipation studies, short-circuit calculations, and other design calculations.
• Conduct site visits when required to ensure designs align with actual site conditions.
• Attend meetings with clients and consultants to clarify design requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with IEC standards and local authority regulations.
• Prepare and submit technical submittals and obtain necessary approvals from consultants and authorities.
• Release approved BOMs for procurement and finalized drawings for production.
• Support procurement in product selection and stores in incoming material inspections.
• Assist production teams during panel assembly and provide troubleshooting support during testing.
• Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) and site teams for successful Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Prepare Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and project close-out documentation.
• Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for customer O&M teams.
• Maintain proper records and documentation of all design-related activities.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LV electrical system design, product selection, and IEC standards.
• Proficiency in:
  • AutoCAD
  • EPLAN
  • ERP Systems
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Industrial Communication Protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience,

OR

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
